Abstract

Throughout history, the woman was distorted by her identity, lacking capacity, deprived of freedom, with no value for her to be mentioned, or dignity to be considered, but in general she endured colors of oppression, misery, and humiliation, shaped by misguided passions, or corrupt beliefs. A wife's financial rights are one of the key issues that most of the divine laws deal with in detail and clarify because of its effects and impacts on the wife in her own right on the one hand and on her family on the other hand. Besides the other rights of the wife, some financial rights must be preserved for the woman in her appreciation and honor such as the right of dowry and alimony. Therefore, this study will highlight the view of Jewish, Christian, and Islamic Sharia for dowry and alimony as the wife's rights within the marital relationship.
