This research paper highlights the significant role of Urdu Language and Literature in the development of Muslim society into the sub-continent. It discusses how Urdu Language and Literature promoted the Muslim culture through Sufi-Saints’ language literature related salient and historic services Sufi Saints mostly adopted the medium of Urdu language thereby to disseminate moral, cultural, ethical and Islamic values in the sub-continent. This paper contains several examples in this connection. This paper also determines and signifies the status of Urdu language in the Muslim society and all over the world. Concluding, this paper gives an overview of the literal and linguistic definitions of a language and its meaningfulness.
